EPFO pensioners can use India Post Payments Bank’s free doorstep service to submit their digital life certificates before the 30 November deadline.
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has told pensioners they can now use doorstep services to submit their digital life certificate, also known as Jeevan Pramaan Patra, without visiting a bank branch or pension office. In a post on X, the EPFO said pensioners could call India Post Payments Bank for the service and complete the process from home.
The move matters because pensioners must file an annual life certificate to keep pension payments flowing. According to the EPFO, the deadline for submitting the document this year is 30 November, and it can be filed digitally through biometric authentication, through doorstep banking services or in person at the relevant bank branch.
India Post says the service is being delivered through its payments bank arm using the postal network and an application developed and maintained by the National Informatics Centre. The bank says the doorstep option is available to pensioners whose pension-disbursing agency is live on the digital life certificate system, and requests can be made through the postal network or by arranging a visit from a postman or Grameen Dak Sevak. IPPB also says the certificate is generated instantly using Aadhaar-enabled biometric authentication.
The arrangement builds on earlier cooperation between the EPFO and India Post Payments Bank. Moneycontrol reported in January that the two had launched a free doorstep digital life certificate service for Employees’ Pension Scheme pensioners, while India Post had said in November 2025 that the scheme would cover EPFO pensioners across its wide postal network. IPPB says the doorstep service is free for pensioners in the EPFO arrangement, even though a nominal fee is listed for some other users on its general DLC page.
Pensioners are still advised to check whether the certificate has been accepted after submission. The Jeevan Pramaan portal allows users to verify status with a Pramaan ID, and if the certificate is rejected or the status is unclear, they should contact their bank or pension-disbursing authority for resolution.
