Rajasthan sets August 16 deadline for Aadhaar-based LPG e-KYC amid supply risks

LPG consumers across Rajasthan must complete Aadhaar-linked e-KYC by August 16 to avoid disruption in household gas supplies, as authorities ramp up verification efforts with multiple authentication methods.

In Rajasthan, LPG consumers have until August 16 to complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC, with oil companies warning that domestic cylinder supplies at household rates could be disrupted for anyone who misses the deadline. Local18 reported that the verification drive has been under way for some time across the state, where officials say 1.85 crore consumers are linked to active LPG connections.

Industry figures cited by the report suggest the process is still unfinished for about 38 lakh consumers, even though more than 20,000 people a day are turning up at gas agencies to get it done. Of the consumers yet to complete verification, the report said roughly 17.3 lakh are with Indane, nearly 9 lakh with Bharat Gas and 11.7 lakh with HP Gas.

The state’s three oil companies have stepped up the campaign by offering three ways to finish the process: through the relevant mobile application, by visiting a local distributor with Aadhaar and biometric authentication or, in some cases, through a face-scan carried out by delivery staff at the time of cylinder delivery. According to guidance reported by Moneycontrol, ET Now News, GoodReturns and Hindustan Times, the Aadhaar-linked verification is intended to keep LPG services and subsidies running smoothly while reducing misuse.

For consumers using the digital route, Indane users can complete the process through the IndianOil ONE app, Bharat Gas customers through Hello BPCL and HP users through the HP Pay app, the Local18 report said. It added that consumers who have not booked gas or received a cylinder for a long period may need to pay a fee of ₹426 at the agency to reactivate the connection after completing e-KYC. The report also noted that Bharat Petroleum has recently launched a 10kg light composite LPG cylinder in Jaipur.
