According to ABP Live’s holiday guide and the Reserve Bank of India’s calendar, the pattern means branch access will vary by location, even as digital services stay available.
The first interruption falls on August 13, when banks in Manipur will be shut for Patriot’s Day. The observance commemorates those who died in the Anglo-Manipuri War of 1891, including leaders and soldiers honoured in the state’s history, according to holiday listings and background material on the occasion.
A nationwide closure follows on August 15 for Independence Day, which is also marked by Parsi New Year in some calendars. Banks will then be closed again on August 16 for the regular Sunday holiday, leaving customers with only the working days in between for any branch-dependent tasks.
The key point for savers and borrowers is that not every bank holiday applies everywhere.
