Rentomojo’s IPO sees record-breaking subscription levels ahead of listing

Rentomojo’s initial public offering attracted unprecedented investor interest, with subscription levels reaching nearly 73 times overall and exceeding expectations in the final hours, signalling strong confidence in the Bengaluru-based rental platform amid its growth trajectory.

RentoMojo’s initial public offering drew heavy interest in its final hours, with exchange data cited by The India Bizz showing the issue was subscribed 72.87 times overall on the last day of bidding. The qualified institutional buyers’ portion led the rush at 177.3 times cover, while non-institutional investors bid 67.92 times, the employee category 21 times and the retail segment 15.58 times. That picture was notably stronger than a separate Moneycontrol update, which put total subscription at 15.41 times as of September 11, suggesting the figures were taken at different points in the book-building process.

The Bengaluru-based rental platform is looking to raise about ₹1,256 crore through the issue, which opened on September 9 at a price band of ₹384 to ₹404 a share. The offer combines a fresh issue of ₹150 crore with an offer for sale worth about ₹1,105.6 crore from existing shareholders. Ahead of the public sale, the company raised ₹376.07 crore from anchor investors, with participation from domestic and global institutions including Kotak, ICICI Prudential Quality Fund, Goldman Sachs, BlackRock Global Funds and HDFC Mutual Fund, according to reports in The Economic Times and The India Bizz.

Founded in 2014, RentoMojo runs a subscription-based rental business focused on furniture, appliances and other household products, competing with names such as Furlenco and Cityfurnish. The company is seeking a valuation of roughly $444 million at the top of the price range, while the issue’s listing on the NSE and BSE is expected on September 17. The fresh proceeds are slated for debt repayment and other corporate purposes.

The company has also pointed to brisk recent financial growth. According to The India Bizz, revenue from operations rose 45.5% to ₹387 crore in FY26, while profit increased 142% to ₹104 crore. Livemint reported that the upper end of the price band values RentoMojo at a market capitalisation of ₹4,006.2 crore, underscoring the premium investors are being asked to pay for a business trying to scale in a still-niche consumer rental market.
