Piramal Pharma Ltd. has surged past a crucial resistance level on its weekly chart, with technical indicators suggesting a possible short-term bullish trend. Analysts highlight the breakout from an ascending triangle pattern, supported by rising volumes and positive momentum signals, though risks remain as broader signals remain mixed.
Piramal Pharma Ltd. has broken above a key resistance level on its weekly chart, a move that technical analysts say may point to a short-term bullish reversal. Trade Brains reported that the stock moved through the neckline of an ascending triangle on August 3 and held above the Rs 196 mark, before finishing the week at Rs 213.61 on August 10.
An ascending triangle is generally viewed as a bullish chart formation, with higher lows pressing against a flat ceiling until buyers force a breakout. Educational material from ChartPattern.com, Strike.Money and StockMarketWatch says the pattern is usually confirmed by rising volume, which can signal that demand is building as sellers repeatedly fail to cap the advance.
Trade Brains said the breakout was supported by stronger trading activity and that several weekly indicators are also leaning positive. The relative strength index rose from 71.17 to 72.51, keeping the stock in overbought territory, while the price volume trend and moving averages both pointed to continued buying interest. The MACD line also stayed above its signal line, with the histogram turning positive.
Still, the move is not without risk. MarketsMojo recently described Piramal Pharma’s broader technical stance as only mildly bearish, saying the stock has shown mixed signals across weekly and monthly charts. That makes the latest breakout noteworthy, but not conclusive, and traders will likely be watching whether the shares can continue to hold above Rs 196 with conviction.
Piramal Pharma, which operates across contract development and manufacturing, hospital generics and consumer healthcare, has also posted a strong run over recent periods. Trade Brains said the stock has gained 20.96% in the past month, 31.13% over six months and 12.82% year on year.
