Bharat Electronics sets record date amid strong quarterly results and rising defence order book

Bharat Electronics Ltd announced a final dividend for FY 2025-26, with positive quarterly results and a substantial order book supporting its stock, despite recent volatility.

Bharat Electronics Ltd. drew investor attention on Friday after the state-run defence equipment maker set August 13 as the record date for its final dividend for the financial year 2025-26. The company’s board has proposed a dividend of ₹0.55 per equity share of face value ₹1, subject to approval at the 72nd annual general meeting, according to the company filing reported by Goodreturns.

The dividend announcement came as BEL traded at about ₹400.40 a share on the Bombay Stock Exchange, giving it a market value of ₹2,92,683.54 crore, Goodreturns said. Investors will need to own the shares before the record date to qualify for the payout.

Recent results have also kept the stock in focus. Moneycontrol reported that BEL’s net profit rose 8% year on year to ₹1,048 crore for the quarter ended June 30, while revenue increased 25% to ₹5,533 crore. Business Standard gave a slightly higher net profit figure of ₹1,054.53 crore and said revenue was ₹5,546.98 crore, reflecting the usual differences that can arise from how financial data is rounded or presented.

The company’s order book remains a key support for the business. Moneycontrol said BEL’s orders stood at ₹72,258 crore as of July 1, underlining the long-running demand for its defence electronics products. Even so, the shares have been volatile: Goodreturns noted that the stock hit a 52-week high of ₹473.25 on March 6 and a low of ₹361.05 on August 28, 2025, and has fallen 8.9% over six months despite a gain of about 33% over two years.
