Traders monitor a narrow pivot band and key support and resistance levels as Bank Nifty’s recent strong move sets the tone for the week ahead, with global cues and futures data indicating potential bullish momentum or deeper corrections.
The week beginning 21 September 2026 opens with Bank Nifty traders watching a tight band of pivot levels after the index’s previous weekly call delivered a strong move. The latest view from Ashish Maji sets the first bullish trigger at 56,577, with weakness flagged below 56,477. Above that, the first upside targets are 56,738 and 57,087, while support is mapped at 56,316 and 55,967.
A broader read from HMATrading points to a constructive tone for the week, with support beginning near 55,313 and resistance starting around 56,968 on Monday before stepping higher through the week. That sits alongside live futures data from Kotak Neo, which showed the September 2026 Bank Nifty contract trading at 56,539 on 18 September, with open interest of 20.46 lakh and a premium over the spot index, suggesting fresh long positions were being built.
Market data from Investing.com ZA put the contract near 56,537 on the same day, within an intraday range of 56,299 to 56,642 and a broader 52-week band of 50,093.20 to 61,680. Replete Equities and Spider Software also framed 21 September as a session likely to be shaped by global cues and sentiment, with traders watching whether Bank Nifty can hold above immediate support and extend through nearby resistance.
The backdrop to those levels is the previous week’s performance. Maji noted that the earlier weekly framework captured a high of 57,089.80, a low of 55,990 and a close of 56,527, which lends some credibility to the current range. The second phase of the new setup strengthens the bullish case above 56,738 and warns of deeper weakness below 56,316, with higher objectives at 57,087 and 57,423 and lower cushions at 55,967 and 55,631.
