QubeHealth-Pay has teamed up with Petos Insurance to embed its payments system within the pet insurer’s app, enabling Indian pet owners to pay veterinary bills with cashback and boosting the adoption of pet insurance across the country.
QubeHealth-Pay has struck a partnership with Petos Insurance to embed its payments system directly inside the pet insurer’s app, creating a new service called Petos Pay for policyholders across India. The companies say the feature is already live and is designed to let pet parents pay veterinary bills through QubePay while also earning cashback linked to healthcare spending.
The move extends QubeHealth’s existing model in human healthcare into the pet market, where many costs remain out of pocket even when insurance is in place. QubeHealth says its platform is built to simplify healthcare payments, financing and provider access, while Petos describes itself as India’s first dedicated pet health insurance and wellness platform, with cover for dogs and cats aged 3 months to 12 years.
Pankaj Shukla, chief executive of QubeHealth-Pay, said pet healthcare faces the same structural gap his company has worked to address in human care: insurance can help with major events, but routine spending still falls on families. Orindam Sen, founder and chief executive of Petos Insurance, said the partnership gives policyholders a single place to manage insurance, vet payments and cashback, rather than treating cover and day-to-day care as separate problems.
The companies expect the tie-up to drive more than ₹50 crore in pet healthcare payments over the next 18 months. Petos also said it expects to sell more than 10,000 Petos Cover policies within two years, with growth of 100% year-on-year, as rising incomes, greater awareness of animal health and higher veterinary costs push pet insurance further into the mainstream.
