Pennant Technologies has deployed its integrated lending platform across Aditya Birla Capital’s gold loan business, streamlining the entire loan journey and supporting the lender’s ambitious expansion plans with a rapid 45-day rollout.
Pennant Technologies says it has rolled out its lending platform across Aditya Birla Capital’s gold loan business, bringing both loan origination and loan management on to the same system. The deployment is intended to cover the full gold loan journey, from application and appraisal through to servicing, renewals and closure, according to the company’s announcement in The Hindu BusinessLine.
The company said the project began with a 137-day discovery stage that involved mapping business processes and agreeing the scope. Once that was settled, both systems went live in 45 days, with more than 20 integrations completed during the rollout. Pennant said the aim was to make origination and servicing work as one continuous process rather than as separate platforms linked together after the fact.
That matters in gold lending, where loans are often approved and paid out in a single branch visit. Industry practice in the segment puts pressure not just on speed at the counter but also on back-office tasks such as valuation, repayment tracking and, in delinquent cases, auction handling. Pennant’s platform is built to give lenders a single source of truth across those steps, while also embedding e-KYC and e-signature processes within the workflow.
According to Pennant, the system’s origination module handles intake, appraisal, valuation, decision-making and sanctioning, with branch staff working from one workflow. The servicing module then takes over repayment, renewals, top-ups, foreclosures and closures, and can support both bullet repayments and regular schedules. The platform also includes audit and auction tools for overdue accounts, a feature the company said is especially important in gold lending.
The rollout comes as Aditya Birla Capital expands in the segment. The company has said it plans to build about 1,000 dedicated gold loan branches over three years, beginning with a phase-wise launch of 200 to 300 branches by March 2027. Pennant said the latest deployment reflects its approach of tailoring the platform to each lender’s operating model rather than offering a one-size-fits-all installation.
