Jasleen Kohli, CEO of Go Digit General Insurance, has been recognised as the Global Fintech Person of the Year (Female) at the 2026 Global Fintech Awards, celebrating her leadership in driving innovation and digital transformation in India’s insurance sector.
Jasleen Kohli, the managing director and chief executive of Go Digit General Insurance, has been named Global Fintech Person of the Year (Female) at the Global Fintech Awards 2026, a recognition that places the insurer’s digital-first strategy firmly in the spotlight. The award was announced during the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai, where the organisers said it was intended to honour leaders who have helped drive innovation and change across India’s fintech sector.
According to the company’s announcement, the award sits within the Special FinTech Achievements category at the fifth edition of the awards. It comes as Digit has pushed further into the mainstream of India’s insurance market by using technology and AI tools to streamline claims, underwriting and customer service.
Go Digit General Insurance, founded in 2016, describes itself as a technology-led insurer based in Bengaluru with products ranging from motor and health cover to travel, home and commercial insurance. The company says it has built a digital operating model around automation, AI-powered claims handling and WhatsApp integration, and that it had issued more than 100 million policies to over 70 million active customers by FY26. Its website also says it reported revenue of INR 11,294 crore and profit after tax of INR 544 crore in FY26.
The award release said Digit served more than 8.4 crore customers and crossed ₹10,000 crore in gross written premium in FY 2025-26. It also said the company moved from unicorn status to a publicly listed business in eight years, after listing on the NSE and BSE in May 2024. Industry profiles of the insurer similarly point to its rapid growth since its launch and its use of automation, including tools that it says helped speed up cashless health approvals.
Kohli, in comments carried by the release, said innovation only matters when it improves people’s lives and added that Digit’s mission has been to make insurance more accessible, transparent and trustworthy. The company said the recognition reflected the work of its employees and partners as well as customer confidence in the brand.
The Global Fintech Awards said the judging process involved an independent jury of senior figures from banking, payments and technology, and that the 2026 edition drew more than 500 nominations from over 400 participating brands. The festival itself is billed as one of the world’s largest fintech gatherings, bringing together regulators, policymakers, financial institutions, start-ups and technology companies.
