At Epoch 2026, Sarvam co-founder Pratyush Kumar said the company was building a foundational AI model with more than a trillion parameters in India from scratch. If it delivers, that would put the startup closer to the scale of global frontier labs and further strengthen the case that India can build serious AI infrastructure of its own, rather than relying entirely on imported systems.
