Anthropic has appointed Anand Raisinghani as head of industries for India, signalling a concerted push into the enterprise AI market with new leadership, local infrastructure, and office expansion in Bengaluru.
Anthropic has named Anand Raisinghani as head of industries for India as it deepens its push into the country’s enterprise AI market. Raisinghani confirmed the move in a LinkedIn post, saying Indian businesses are adopting artificial intelligence at scale and that the way it is deployed across organisations now matters. Irina Ghose, Anthropic’s India managing director, separately welcomed him to the company.
Raisinghani arrives from Setu, the Pine Labs-owned fintech infrastructure company, where he most recently served as president and chief business officer. Economic Times reported that he had stepped down from the role on July 17, 2026, after joining the business in April 2025 and leaving to pursue other opportunities. Before Setu, he held senior positions at SAP India and earlier worked at Equifax, IBM and Wipro, giving him a background that spans enterprise software and regulated financial services.
His appointment comes as Anthropic builds out a larger India leadership team. Ghose was appointed earlier this year to oversee the company’s business strategy and operations in India, while the company has also named Sangeeta Bavi to lead startups and Raunak Khetan and Siddiq Zaman in partnerships-focused roles, according to separate reports. Anthropic has also opened a Bengaluru office, marking a broader expansion in one of Claude’s fastest-growing enterprise markets.
The company is also adding local infrastructure designed to appeal to Indian customers with strict data and governance requirements. It has announced plans to offer in-country inference for Claude through Amazon Bedrock in India, a move that could matter for banks, insurers, telecom companies and government-linked organisations. Taken together, the hires, office expansion and localisation efforts suggest Anthropic is moving to compete more aggressively for enterprise AI contracts in India.
