Valmiki Leela Capital is poised to build a ₹3,000 crore IPO pipeline over the next 18 months, marking its transition from advisory services to full-fledged merchant banking with mandates across diverse sectors including renewable energy and pharmaceuticals.
Valmiki Leela Capital said on Tuesday it is assembling an initial public offering pipeline worth about ₹3,000 crore over the next 12 to 18 months, after closing its first mainboard mandate. The merchant banker said the work reflects its push beyond advisory services and into larger public market deals across several industries.
The SEBI-registered Category I firm handled the ₹460-crore listing of Deepa Jewellers, a Hyderabad-based B2B gold jewellery platform, in its maiden mainboard assignment. According to the company’s own background material, Valmiki Leela Capital offers IPO advisory, pre-IPO funding, mergers and acquisitions strategy and corporate finance services, with offices in Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
The firm said its near-term pipeline includes proposed offerings worth about ₹1,500 crore in renewable energy and power, followed by mandates in pharmaceuticals, packaging and fast-moving electrical goods. Market sources also indicate that SEBI has already cleared the draft papers for Deepa Jewellers, which planned to use ₹215 crore of fresh proceeds for working capital and allocate the rest for general corporate purposes.
Sandeep Gupta, a director at Valmiki Leela Capital, said completing the maiden mandate gives the firm an operating base for its investment banking business. “With a pipeline of approximately ₹3,000 crore, our focus is now on preparing issuers for the standards of governance, disclosure and execution demanded by public markets,” he said, adding that the next wave of candidates is emerging from manufacturing, energy infrastructure and domestic consumption.
