State witnesses a surge in investment interest worth Rs 66,392 crore after a two-day outreach in Delhi-NCR, aiming to boost manufacturing, textiles, engineering, and aluminium sectors while creating thousands of jobs.
Odisha has reported fresh investment interest worth Rs 66,392 crore after a two-day outreach in Delhi-NCR led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, with the state saying the proposals could support 54,135 jobs. The trip followed the recent Odisha Food Pro 2026 and combined one-to-one talks with industry leaders, sector roundtables and a visit to Haier’s manufacturing plant in Noida.
According to Odishabarta, the discussions focused on manufacturing, textiles and apparel, engineering goods, aluminium downstream activity and ancillary industries, which the government sees as central to its next phase of growth. The outreach included a roundtable with the Indian Industries Association on engineering goods, another with the Noida Apparel Export Cluster on textiles and apparel and a session with NALCO on aluminium-linked industries.
The latest figure builds on an earlier day of the same roadshow, when The Deccan Chronicle reported that Odisha had secured investment proposals worth Rs 30,595 crore on April 8, 2025, with the potential to create nearly 48,390 jobs. The New Indian Express said at the time that the commitments included Rs 3,000 crore from 14 companies and 11 memorandums of understanding worth Rs 27,595 crore across several sectors.
The state has continued to position itself as an industrial destination through a series of approvals and project launches. Economictimes.com reported in September 2024 that the High-Level Clearance Authority cleared proposals worth Rs 39,271 crore, while Business Standard said in September 2025 that 27 industrial projects worth Rs 25,308 crore were inaugurated across 12 districts. Energetica India later reported that Odisha approved 33 more proposals worth Rs 1.46 lakh crore in October 2025, and Kalinga Standard said in January 2026 that seven projects worth Rs 55,783 crore were cleared by the same clearance body.
