Mepz Special Economic Zone has greenlit 11 new projects worth Rs 443 crore, promising to generate over 2,400 jobs across manufacturing, IT, and logistics sectors in Tamil Nadu, signalling continued industrial expansion in the region.
MEPZ Special Economic Zone has approved 11 investment proposals worth Rs 443 crore, a move the authorities say could lead to 2,427 jobs across manufacturing, information technology and logistics services. The decisions were taken at the Unit Approval Committee’s August meeting, chaired by Zonal Development Commissioner Alex Paul Menon, and covered nine new SEZ units and two Export Oriented Units.
The largest single proposal came from ZF Industrial Technology Coimbatore Pvt Ltd, which won approval to set up a manufacturing facility at Aspen Park Infra in Coimbatore with an investment of Rs 336 crore. The project is expected to create 250 direct jobs and adds to the region’s push into advanced manufacturing.
Other significant approvals included Sanmina-SCI India Pvt Ltd, which plans a manufacturing unit at SIPCOT Hi-Tech SEZ in Oragadam, Sriperumbudur, with Rs 73 crore of investment and 1,350 jobs projected. Visionet Systems Pvt Ltd also secured approval to expand at ELCOT SEZ in Vilankurichi, Coimbatore, with an additional Rs 11 crore expected to support 294 jobs in services.
The latest round continues a run of activity at MEPZ SEZ. In May 2026, the committee cleared projects worth more than Rs 450 crore with an estimated 6,650 jobs, while approvals in November 2025 and January 2025 also brought new investment into sectors ranging from renewable energy and engineering to IT and back-office services. Taken together, the recent rounds suggest that the Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Puducherry region remains a steady draw for industrial and export-oriented expansion.
