The speech tied that ambition to stronger domestic manufacturing, more advanced technology, deeper self-reliance and a wider push to reduce dependence on foreign suppliers in sensitive sectors, according to the reports from Swarajya and Business Standard.
A key part of the address was the idea of “Shakti Ki Saptadhara”, a seven-point framework spanning manufacturing, agriculture and food processing, technology and innovation, infrastructure, defence, the green and blue economy, and India’s soft power. Modi argued that India’s next phase of growth must rest on local capacity, with strategic industries and critical inputs increasingly built at home rather than sourced abroad, Business Standard reported.
The speech also placed heavy emphasis on economic policy and national capability. According to Business Standard, Modi announced next-generation goods and services tax reforms and a ₹1 trillion jobs scheme, while also calling for greater self-reliance in energy and defence. Separate reporting said he highlighted deep technologies such as artificial intelligence and quantum computing, and underlined the role nuclear energy could play in India’s future growth.
Modi also linked development with security and national confidence. NDTV reported that he praised the armed forces for their response to terrorism after the Pahalgam attack and said they had been given a free hand to act. He also spoke of the Constitution as a guiding light and expressed solidarity with people affected by natural disasters. Taken together, the address presented 2047 not as a distant slogan but as a policy goal requiring industrial expansion, technological investment and stronger state capacity.
