The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has introduced two new certificate programmes aimed at senior finance professionals working in India’s growing International Financial Services Centres, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing regulatory expertise in GIFT City’s cross-border financial market.
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India has launched two specialist certificate courses for senior finance staff working in International Financial Services Centres, adding to its push to build expertise around GIFT City’s fast-growing cross-border financial market, according to MediaInfoline. The move comes as ICAI continues its wider collaboration with the International Financial Services Centres Authority, under a memorandum of understanding signed in November 2023 and due to run until November 2026.
The new programmes are the Certificate Course on Regulatory Framework for Fund Management in IFSC and the Certificate Course on Regulatory Framework for Capital Market Intermediaries and Listing Requirements of IFSCA. The first has been recognised as an eligible certificate programme under the International Financial Services Centres Authority’s 2025 fund management regulations, while the second has been acknowledged under the authority’s 2025 rules for capital market intermediaries. Both are aimed at key managerial personnel in IFSC firms.
ICAI says the courses are designed to give participants a closer understanding of the regulatory environment governing fund management, capital market intermediaries and listing standards in the IFSC ecosystem. The institute’s Financial Markets and Investors’ Awareness Committee is the body behind the launch, reflecting its broader role in professional development and investor education.
Prasanna Kumar, ICAI’s president, said the recognition of the courses by the regulator was “a significant step towards strengthening professional capabilities and fostering a culture of regulatory excellence within India’s International Financial Services Centres”. He added that as the IFSC ecosystem develops into a more competitive global financial hub, there is a need for professionals with deeper knowledge of compliance and governance.
