Seven Hyderabad business figures have landed in the Hurun wealth list’s top 100, underscoring the city’s growing weight in India’s pharmaceutical, infrastructure, data-centre and clean energy sectors. According to Siasat.com, the combined fortune of the seven is estimated at Rs 4,01,200 crore, placing Hyderabad among the strongest regional clusters of wealth in the ranking.
At the top of the local group is Murali Divi and family, linked to Divi’s Laboratories, with estimated wealth of Rs 1,25,400 crore. ForbesRichest describes Divi as the founder of the pharmaceutical company, which supplies active pharmaceutical ingredients to major drug makers and earns most of its revenue from exports.
The next two positions are held by P P Reddy and P V Krishna Reddy, both associated with Megha Engineering & Infrastructures. Siasat.com put P P Reddy’s wealth at Rs 53,100 crore and Krishna Reddy’s at Rs 52,100 crore. ForbesRichest says P P Reddy built the business from pipe-making for municipalities into a much broader engineering group with projects spanning dams, power plants, roads and natural gas networks, including contracts outside India.
The remaining Hyderabad names on the list are Sridhar Pinnapureddy and family, linked to CTRL S Datacentres, with wealth of Rs 46,100 crore; P V Ramprasad Reddy, associated with Aurobindo Pharma, at Rs 39,900 crore; B Parthasaradhi Reddy and family, linked to Hetero Labs, at Rs 39,400 crore; and Surender Pal Singh Saluja and family, associated with Premier Energies, at Rs 35,200 crore. ForbesRichest says Pinnapureddy founded the data-centre business, while Ramprasad Reddy is tied to Aurobindo’s generics and active pharmaceutical ingredients operation.
