Yuze Digital India partners with airpay to expand digital payments ecosystem

Yuze Digital India Private Limited teams up with airpay India to strengthen acquiring and payment acceptance capabilities, aiming to build a comprehensive payments stack for underbanked businesses and consumers across India.

Yuze Digital India Private Limited has teamed up with airpay India in a move aimed at broadening its digital payments presence in India, adding acquiring and payment acceptance capabilities to a platform that already has an issuance-led partnership in the prepaid payment instrument space. The alliance is designed to help Yuze build a more connected payments stack for businesses, covering collections, acceptance and transaction processing.

The company said the partnership fits its wider growth plan in India, where it is seeking to assemble services across the payments value chain rather than relying on a single function. Yuze says it is focused on serving underbanked businesses and individuals in emerging markets and does not hold a banking licence, with wallet and RuPay card services in India issued through a partnership with Transcorp International.

Airpay, which describes itself as an integrated omnichannel financial services platform, offers payment gateway services, POS devices, EMI options and UPI integration, alongside online and offline payment acceptance tools. Its India platform supports major payment methods including UPI, cards, net banking, wallets and EMIs, and is built to plug into websites, mobile apps and physical stores through APIs, plugins and direct integration.

Rabih Sfeir, chief executive of Yuze Digital, said in a statement that India is a strategic market for the company and that the alliance with airpay strengthens the acquiring and payment acceptance layer of its India proposition. Kunal Jhunjhunwala, founder of airpay India, said the partnership reflects a shared aim of building practical payment solutions through technology and operational collaboration.
