Nexular aims to transform EV maintenance with AI-enabled connectivity platform

Mumbai-based Nexular develops a connectivity and AI-driven platform to provide real-time data and remote control for EV manufacturers, marking a shift toward software-centric vehicle management.

Mumbai-based Nexular is betting that the future of electric vehicles will depend not just on what happens on the road, but on what manufacturers can still see after a vehicle leaves the factory. Founded in 2023 by Joel and Emma Rozada and mobility specialist Matthias Hultén, the startup is building a connectivity layer for EVs that combines hardware, cloud software and an AI-driven analytics layer to track data such as location, battery health and speed. The system is designed to give original equipment manufacturers live dashboards, service alerts and maintenance warnings, while storing data on private local servers to meet privacy and regulatory needs.

That pitch places Nexular in a broader wave of Indian startups trying to turn connected mobility into a software business, rather than a purely hardware one. By giving manufacturers remote visibility and control, the company is aiming to solve a longstanding problem for EV makers: once a vehicle is sold, the flow of operational data often becomes patchy. Nexular says its platform is intended to keep that data flowing securely, which could matter as EV adoption grows and fleet management becomes more dependent on predictive maintenance and real-time diagnostics.

The wider startup roundup also showed how artificial intelligence continues to attract capital across sectors. Vecton AI, founded by Himanshu Goyal and Gaurav Mandlecha, raised Rs 6 crore in a pre-seed round led by Zeropearl VC to expand its enterprise AI offering for banks, financial services and insurers. Bengaluru-based Ayati Devices secured Rs 15 crore in a pre-Series A round led by Inflexor Ventures to commercialise diagnostic tools for diabetic foot complications and peripheral vascular disease, while Pune-based Aliment raised a pre-seed round led by Navam Capital to scale its edge-AI systems for food manufacturing. FreightFox, meanwhile, raised Rs 5 crore to broaden its freight management platform as logistics operations become more digitised.

Elsewhere, Tata Consultancy Services and Google Cloud opened a Gemini Experience Centre in Mexico City, their ninth globally and second in Latin America. According to the companies, the facility is meant to help organisations test and adopt advanced AI tools for productivity and decision-making, with use cases ranging from fraud investigation to insurance claims processing. TCS said the centre includes more than 3,000 industry-aware AI agents built using Gemini Enterprise, underscoring how large technology providers are pushing harder into applied AI as enterprises look for production-ready systems rather than experiments.
