Samsung is expanding the functionality of its AI-powered Now Brief feature to include bill payment alerts and direct settlement options in India, marking a significant upgrade in its daily assistant capabilities.
Samsung is broadening the role of Now Brief, the AI-powered feature that first arrived with the Galaxy S25 and One UI 7.0 to a mixed response. SamMobile reported that Samsung refined the system on the Galaxy S26 with One UI 8.5, and is now adding another layer in One UI 9.0: bill payment reminders for users in India.
On devices such as the Galaxy Z Flip 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, the upgraded Now Brief includes a Pay Now option. According to SamMobile, the feature scans incoming bills, works out when they are due and pushes alerts so users are less likely to miss a payment. The reminder card is also tied into Samsung Wallet, letting people settle bills directly after linking a credit card, debit card or Unified Payments Interface account.
Samsung says engineers at its research and development centres in Bengaluru and Noida built the feature with Indian users in mind. It also fits a wider pattern of incremental upgrades to Now Brief: Android Authority reported that Samsung has already been testing custom reminder cards through Routines Plus, available on devices running One UI 7 and later, which suggests the company is steadily trying to turn the feature into a more practical daily assistant rather than a simple summary screen.
