Patel Engineering rallies on robust June-quarter earnings and project gains

Shares of Patel Engineering surged following stronger June-quarter earnings, improved profitability, and progress on key projects, signalling renewed investor confidence in the infrastructure firm.

Patel Engineering shares climbed on Monday after the infrastructure company reported stronger June-quarter earnings, with the stock touching an intraday high of Rs 30.25 on the NSE before ending the session 3.53% higher at Rs 29.60. The move reflected investor relief that profit growth, though reported differently across market coverage, came alongside signs of firmer execution and better operating discipline.

EquityPandit said consolidated net profit attributable to owners rose 24.49% to Rs 93.48 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, while revenue increased 3.83% to Rs 1,280.74 crore. By contrast, other market reports including Mint and Business Standard put quarterly net profit at about Rs 75 crore and revenue at Rs 1,233 crore, suggesting the company’s results were being reported with different baselines or data cuts. Even so, the broad picture was the same: Patel delivered a stronger bottom line than a year earlier, helped by improved margins.

Operating EBITDA rose to Rs 179.60 crore from Rs 165.33 crore, while the EBITDA margin was reported at 14.02%. Business Standard and Business World-style wire coverage said the margin was closer to 13.4% to 11.34%, underscoring the same theme of profitability improving more quickly than sales. Managing Director Kavita Shirvaikar said the company’s performance was supported by disciplined project execution and cost control, and that Patel would keep focusing on efficiency and liquidity.

The company also highlighted progress on its project pipeline. It said the Subansiri Lower Hydropower Project reached 1,000 MW of operational capacity after Unit 4 was commissioned, while work has started on Unit 7. At the Kwar Hydropower Project, dam concrete work has passed the halfway point, and construction has begun on a 1,125 MW hydropower project in Bhutan. Mint also reported that Patel won a Rs 126.37 crore Letter of Acceptance for the Tasgaon Lift Irrigation Scheme in Maharashtra, while other reports said the order book stood at Rs 14,636 crore to Rs 16,285 crore as of June 30, providing solid revenue visibility.
