RailTel set for robust dividend payout amid stable profitability

RailTel Corporation of India announces a Rs 1.25 per share final dividend for FY 2025-26, maintaining a consistent payout despite market fluctuations, highlighting its stable profitability and investor appeal.

RailTel Corporation of India is set to draw attention next week as investors line up for its latest dividend payout, with the state-owned railway telecom and infrastructure company having fixed August 13 as the record date. According to the company’s announcement, shareholders on record that day will be eligible for the final dividend for FY 2025-26, subject to approval at the annual general meeting. RailTel has recommended a payment of Rs 1.25 per share, equal to 12.5% on the stock’s face value of Rs 10.

The payout adds to a recent pattern of distributions by the Navratna PSU. Dividend records compiled by Goodreturns, The Economic Times, Moneycontrol and ETMoney show that RailTel declared an interim dividend of Rs 1 per share in March 2026 and a final dividend of Rs 0.85 per share for FY 2024-25 in June 2025. Those records also indicate that the company has kept up a regular dividend cadence over the past year, even as its share price has moved lower in the broader market.

On Friday, August 7, RailTel’s shares finished 0.76% lower at Rs 288.50 on the BSE, giving the company a market value of Rs 9,259.07 crore, according to the lead report. The stock traded between Rs 288 and Rs 291.15 during the session. It remains well below its 52-week high of Rs 413.10 reached on September 17, 2025, though it has held above its 52-week low of Rs 244.95 set on March 30, 2026.

The stock’s longer-term performance has been mixed. Goodreturns said the shares have risen 1.25% in the past two weeks, but are down 37% over two years, even as they have gained close to 113% over five years. The company’s return on equity stands at 18.32%, according to the same report, underlining that RailTel continues to combine dividend payouts with relatively strong profitability metrics.
