IDFC First Bank unveils its 2025-26 Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report, emphasising ESG-driven growth, transparency, and strong financial results amid increasing green initiatives and strategic fundraising plans.
IDFC First Bank has published its Business Responsibility and Sustainability Report for 2025-26, setting out a broader push to tie growth to environmental, social and governance standards as it prepares for its 12th annual general meeting on August 31, 2026. The bank said the report was independently assured by SGS India Private Limited, a step it presented as part of efforts to strengthen transparency in its ESG disclosures.
The lender’s sustainability framework, branded FIRST ENSURE, centres on folding ESG factors into products and services, operations and corporate culture. According to the bank’s sustainability pages, the initiative has already supported more than ₹1,327 crore in green fixed deposits and financed more than 2.64 lakh electric vehicles, while also backing work on financial literacy, rural development and other community programmes.
The report lands against a solid financial backdrop. IDFC First Bank said profit after tax for 2025-26 was ₹1,636 crore, up 7% from a year earlier, or ₹2,119 crore when excluding the impact of the Chandigarh fraud case, which it said represented 39% growth. Loans and advances rose 20% to ₹2,90,278 crore, while the current and savings account ratio stood at 49.8% and net interest margin was 5.75%.
The bank also flagged a strong start to 2026-27, saying first-quarter profit after tax topped ₹1,000 crore for the first time and gross non-performing assets improved to 1.51%. Shareholders at the AGM will consider a dividend of ₹0.25 a share, along with resolutions that would allow the bank to raise up to ₹7,500 crore through equity and ₹12,500 crore through debt securities.
