Gurugram-based auto-tech company Cars24 deepens its AI ambitions through a new collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, aiming to support early-stage founders and advance mobility and road safety initiatives.
Cars24 has deepened its push into artificial intelligence with a new partnership with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, as the Gurugram-based auto-tech company looks to widen its role in India’s startup ecosystem.
According to the company and the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, the agreement will centre on artificial intelligence, mobility and road safety. Cars24 said it will back early-stage founders through mentorship, AI support, skilling programmes and access to possible investment, while the government will help widen outreach through the Startup India platform.
The collaboration builds on Cars24’s earlier launch of AI Labs, which the company said in June would support AI-first products and startups with a committed $20 million fund. That initiative was presented as one of the larger publicly disclosed AI bets by an Indian startup and was described as spanning proprietary product development, partnerships with frontier AI firms and backing for early-stage founders.
Cars24 has also said it is working with companies including OpenAI, Amazon Web Services and ElevenLabs. Under the new public-private arrangement, the company plans to launch a Founders’ Fellowship, mobility and autotech skilling programmes, an annual innovation challenge and a road safety hackathon, alongside a funding platform called “Fuel by Cars24” to connect startups with investors. The memorandum is non-binding and can be extended later by mutual consent.
