PayU and Marg ERP launch integrated digital payments solution to revolutionise pharma trade workflows

PayU and Marg ERP have collaborated to introduce Marg Pay, an integrated platform that streamlines invoice reconciliation and payments for India’s pharmaceutical distributors and MSMEs, aiming to minimise errors and improve cash flow management.

PayU and Marg ERP have joined forces to push more of India’s pharmaceutical trade towards digital payments, launching an integrated solution aimed at making invoice collection and reconciliation faster and less error-prone for distributors and MSME retailers. The companies said the new Marg Pay offering links PayU’s payment infrastructure directly into Marg ERP’s software, bringing ordering, payments and reconciliation into a single workflow.

The partnership is designed to address a long-standing pain point in the sector: matching incoming payments to individual invoices. According to the companies, manual reconciliation can consume time, create errors and increase the risk of cash pilferage, with knock-on effects including working-capital strain, lost revenue and customer churn. Under the new system, retailers will be able to generate Dynamic QR codes for individual invoices, while distributors can issue payment links that are reconciled bill by bill and posted straight into the ERP system.

PayU’s chief growth and marketing officer, Vineet Sethi, said the tie-up is intended to simplify financial administration and make cash flows more predictable for pharma distributors and retailers. Marg ERP managing director Thakur Anup Singh said the partnership is meant to help distributors, retailers and MSMEs accept payments more securely and automate account reconciliation, which he said should improve efficiency and confidence across day-to-day operations.

Marg said the rollout will also extend to its eRetail application, which supports B2B ordering, payments and reconciliation. The wider MargPay platform positions itself as a payments and reconciliation layer for small and medium-sized businesses, while PayU says its broader digital payments stack includes QR collections, payment links and invoicing tools for business customers.
