Pidilite Industries reports a robust first quarter of fiscal 2027, with revenue and profit surging driven by broad-based demand, strategic pricing, and new product expansion, despite facing raw material cost challenges.
Pidilite Industries Ltd. said its first-quarter fiscal 2027 performance was lifted by broad-based demand and careful pricing, with standalone revenue rising 22.2% and underlying volume growth reaching 11.3%. The maker of Fevicol and other adhesives also reported a stronger consumer and bazaar business, where underlying volume growth hit 12.2%, according to the company’s earnings-call highlights published by GuruFocus.
Profitability also improved despite a volatile raw-material backdrop. Standalone EBITDA margin increased 80 basis points from the previous quarter to 26.4%, while standalone profit after tax climbed 27.7%. On a consolidated basis, revenue rose 21.3%, EBITDA margin improved 120 basis points and profit after tax increased 30.3%, supported by double-digit growth across domestic and overseas subsidiaries, GuruFocus said.
Management linked the quarter’s resilience to proactive price increases, operating leverage and healthy demand, but it also acknowledged pressure from higher input costs, especially vinyl acetate monomer, which lifted gross-margin strain. The company said it expects to keep EBITDA margins within its 20% to 24% guided band, although some moderation may follow as higher-cost inventory flows through and promotional spending normalises. Arthneeti said Pidilite has been stressing that it prefers to reinvest margin headroom into growth rather than chase short-term expansion in profitability.
The company’s growth pipeline remains a key focus. Management pointed to faster expansion in businesses such as Dr. Fixit and tile adhesives, where it says it is gaining share in still-underpenetrated markets, as well as newer offerings including Fevicol Expert, MCL Advanced, Unofin and electronic adhesives. It also flagged a more competitive environment ahead, including new entrants in tile adhesives and a major paint company’s move into vinyl acetate monomer production, though Pidilite said its brand-led model and customer-service approach remain intact. Whalesbook noted that the quarterly earnings call was scheduled for August 5, 2026, with senior executives including Sudhanshu Vats and Kavinder Singh participating.
