Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals posts first quarter rebound with renewed growth momentum

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals reports a strong first quarter, signalling a broad-based recovery driven by demand across main categories, improved profitability, and strategic expansion into renewable consumer offerings amid a revitalised market position.

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals said its first quarter delivered a broad-based recovery, with demand improving across its main categories and profitability rising faster than sales. The company reported consolidated revenue of ₹2,235 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 11.8% from a year earlier, while profit after tax climbed 15.2% to ₹143 crore. EBITDA rose 14.2% to ₹224 crore as pricing actions, operating leverage and tighter cost control helped lift margins.

The latest numbers mark a clear improvement from the same period a year ago, when the business was under pressure from unseasonal weather that hurt cooling product sales, according to ICICI Direct. In that earlier quarter, revenue had fallen to ₹1,998 crore, EBITDA dropped to ₹192 crore and profit after tax slipped to ₹124 crore. The contrast suggests Crompton has regained momentum as seasonal demand normalised and execution strengthened.

Segment performance was also stronger across the board. The consumer electricals division grew 10.6% year on year, supported by BLDC fans, pumps and large appliances. Lighting posted revenue growth of 15.4% and reported an EBIT margin of 12%, while the Butterfly business recorded revenue growth of 14.1% and a marked improvement in operating margin. The company also said it has begun rolling out B2C solar rooftop products and solar pumps in select cities, extending its presence in renewable-linked consumer offerings.

Crompton framed the quarter as part of its wider “Crompton 2.0” strategy, which centres on premium products, wider distribution and consumer-focused innovation. The company also pointed to a branding win for Butterfly, which received the Golden Peacock Eco-Innovation Award 2026 for its 5-star rated RENZ COOKTOP. Together, the results indicate that Crompton is trying to convert recent product and channel investments into steadier growth and better earnings quality.
