Al-Futtaim partners with Juspay to streamline cross-border payments with adaptive technology

Al-Futtaim’s strategic partnership with Juspay marks a significant step towards simplifying and localising payment processes across its diverse markets, set to roll out from September 2026.

Al-Futtaim has struck a strategic deal with payments technology group Juspay to handle payment orchestration across its brands and markets, in a move that underscores how large retail and consumer groups are trying to simplify checkout while keeping local flexibility. The rollout is due to begin in September 2026, when the first brand is scheduled to switch on the system.

According to the announcement, Juspay will provide a single payment layer that pulls together fraud controls, adaptive 3D Secure authentication, local payment methods, tokenisation and consolidated reporting. The company will also add its Breeze commerce stack, which is designed to support faster checkout flows for digital-first brands and improve conversion and retention.

The partnership is intended to address the complexity of running payments across multiple countries and labels. Juspay said it will use a layered structure with central oversight, country-specific settings and individual brand controls, allowing each business to keep its own checkout look and local payment preferences while Al-Futtaim retains visibility across the wider system.

Omar Haddad, chief executive of Al-Futtaim Finance, said the arrangement is meant to make transactions simpler, safer and more consistent for customers across the group’s businesses. Nakul Kothari, who leads Juspay’s Asia-Pacific and Middle East business, said the platform is built for large enterprises that need to support several brands, markets and payment providers through one system. The deal comes as Juspay has been expanding its regional footprint, including work with Wego to support local payment options across the Middle East, and as it has been broadening its product range with Breeze Universal, a pilot aimed at AI-driven brand discovery.
