Protectt.ai unveils AI security platform to combat evolving cyber threats in financial sector

Mumbai-based Protectt.ai launches an autonomous AI security platform designed for banks, non-bank lenders and insurers to proactively identify vulnerabilities amid increasing app deployment and cyber risks.

Protectt.ai has launched an AI for Security Platform aimed at banks, non-bank lenders and insurers as financial firms accelerate app releases and face a wider window for cyber risk. The Mumbai-based company said the system uses autonomous AI agents to mimic attacker behaviour across web and mobile applications, helping security teams spot weaknesses more often than with traditional point-in-time checks.

The platform is built around three tools. RedPilot is designed to act like a hostile tester, chaining together weaknesses to show how an app could be compromised. WebScan checks web applications, infrastructure and APIs against more than 30 attack scenarios, while AppScan has been upgraded to run more than 140 automated security tests on each build, according to Protectt.ai and reports from CIO&Leader.

Protectt.ai said the product is intended for regulated environments and can run inside a bank’s own infrastructure, including on-premises, private cloud and hybrid set-ups. The company also said application code and findings are not sent to outside AI services. It presents the platform as a complement to human specialists rather than a replacement, arguing that issues such as social engineering, physical security and some business-logic flaws still require manual judgement.

Founder and chief executive Manish Mimani said security should not be treated as a quarterly task when applications are changing every day. The company also noted that the launch sits alongside regulatory expectations in India, where the RBI requires critical systems to undergo vulnerability assessments at least twice a year and penetration testing at least once a year, as well as after major changes.
