Bank of Baroda has launched bob World 2.0, a next-generation mobile banking app featuring voice-enabled payments, personalised experiences, and AI-powered security, aiming to redefine customer engagement across mobile and web platforms.
Bank of Baroda has launched bob World 2.0, a new mobile banking application that brings voice-enabled payments and navigation to the lender’s digital offering. According to the bank’s announcement on 12 September, the app is built around artificial intelligence and is designed to make everyday banking more conversational, with a stronger emphasis on personalisation and security.
The bank said the platform includes a personal financial management module and tailored experiences for different customer groups, including senior citizens, women, non-resident Indians and millennials. Debadatta Chand, the managing director and chief executive, said in the announcement that the new app reworks mobile banking around customer needs by combining financial wellness tools, AI-led engagement and personalised services in one place.
The launch took place at the Global Fintech Fest 2026 in Mumbai and was shown to Sanjay Lohiya, secretary in India’s Department of Financial Services, a day before the announcement, according to reports in the Times of India and Telangana Today. Those reports said bob World 2.0 is built on a microservices-based architecture and is intended to support an omnichannel digital banking model across mobile and internet platforms.
Bank of Baroda has been steadily widening its digital push. Its existing bob World app already offers a large menu of services, including payments, deposits and card management, while the bank says the newer version is meant to improve speed, ease of use and real-time protection. The state-controlled lender, which serves more than 180 million customers across 15 countries, has also recently been recognised by the Indian Banks’ Association for its technology work.
