Wizz Financial has introduced a revolutionary cross-border wallet leveraging India’s Unified Payments Interface, enabling international visitors to make seamless digital transactions and send money in real-time across the US, UAE, and India, with plans to unify remittances and financial services worldwide.
Wizz Financial has launched a cross-border wallet designed to let eligible international visitors make digital payments in India through the Unified Payments Interface, better known as UPI. The new service is built around the UPI One World framework, which allows approved users to pay without depending on cash, subject to regulatory conditions and transaction limits.
The company said the feature is intended to widen access to India’s fast-growing real-time payments system for overseas travellers. It also plans to let eligible customers in its US and UAE businesses send money directly into Indian UPI accounts in real time, linking overseas transfers more closely with domestic payments.
At the centre of the launch is SWITCH, Wizz Financial’s own interoperability layer. According to the company, the system is designed to connect its platforms in the US, UAE and India, as well as selected third-party wallets and financial services, so customers can move funds more easily across different markets and payment rails.
Wizz Financial said the new app is part of a broader push to combine remittances, foreign exchange, prepaid cards, lending, bill payments, mobile top-ups and travel-related services in one place. The company says it serves more than 5 million customers in India through more than 360 branches across 22 states, and describes itself as a cross-border neobanking platform with operations in more than 150 countries and more than 50 regulatory licences.
