Arvind Ltd is considering leased and asset-light strategies to boost denim capacity following a surge in demand, with fabric output reaching its highest in 16 quarters and plans to expand global design hubs, emphasising sustainability and fast customer service.
Arvind Ltd is looking at leased and other asset-light ways to add denim capacity after strong demand lifted fabric output to its highest level in 16 quarters, according to Apparel Resources. The Gujarat-based textile group said denim fabric volumes rose 34% year on year to 17.5 million metres in the June quarter and that it expects demand to stay firm through the rest of the year.
Punit Lalbhai, vice-chairman of Arvind, said the company does not see pressure on volumes for the remainder of the year. He added that existing plants are running at full utilisation, which is pushing the business to assess extra capacity without committing immediately to new, capital-heavy factories.
Arvind’s broader textile and apparel business is built around denim, shirts, knits and essentials, with a multi-location manufacturing base and a focus on digital capability and sustainability-led production, according to the company’s website. In its latest annual update, the company said denim fabric volumes reached 51.6 million metres in FY25, while garmenting delivered more than 9 million units in the fourth quarter and helped lift consolidated revenue to ₹2,221 crore.
The company also says its annual denim capacity now exceeds 110 million metres, and that its garmenting arm produced about 37 million pieces in FY25. Arvind has been expanding its global design network, including hubs in the US, the UK and a newly announced London location, which it says will help it serve customers more quickly and support the next phase of premium product development. The business has also highlighted its use of recycled water in denim production as part of a wider sustainability push.
