Anupam Rasayan India reports a significant profit increase and announces the successful commercialisation of ethyl trifluoroacetate using advanced flow chemistry, clinching a global first that promises safer, more sustainable production methods.
Anupam Rasayan India reported a rise in first-quarter consolidated net profit as stronger sales lifted income, while costs also climbed sharply. The speciality chemicals maker said profit increased 5.7 per cent to ₹51.21 crore in the April-June period from ₹48.45 crore a year earlier, according to a regulatory filing cited by The Hindu BusinessLine. Total income grew 36 per cent to ₹667.54 crore, although expenses rose to ₹597.86 crore from ₹427.88 crore in the same quarter last year.
Managing director Anand Desai said the performance reflected continued momentum across the business and the company’s plan to build a globally integrated speciality chemicals and contract development and manufacturing organisation platform. His comments came as the company said it had become the first in the world to commercialise ethyl trifluoroacetate, or ETFA, using flow chemistry, a process advance that it says strengthens its capabilities in complex fluorination.
Industry reports said the ETFA milestone is more than a symbolic first: continuous flow chemistry can improve process safety, reproducibility and scale, while potentially lowering environmental impact versus conventional batch production. ETFA is used as a fluorinated building block in pharmaceuticals, life sciences and performance materials, and reporting on the company’s announcement put the global market for the compound at about $500 million to $600 million.
