PayU and Marg ERP’s new integration promises faster, error-free payments for MSMEs and pharma distributors

PayU and Marg ERP have launched Marg Pay, a unified payments tool embedded within the ERP system, aimed at streamlining collections and reconciliation for Indian pharmaceutical distributors and MSME retailers, reducing manual errors and accelerating settlements.

PayU and Marg ERP have teamed up to launch Marg Pay, a payments tool designed to make collections and reconciliation simpler for pharmaceutical distributors and MSME retailers in India. According to the companies’ announcement, PayU’s payments infrastructure is now built directly into Marg ERP’s workflow, bringing ordering, payment and reconciliation into one system. The aim is to cut the friction that often comes with manual settlement, a process the companies say can be slow, error-prone and vulnerable to leakage.

Under the new setup, MSME retailers will be able to create dynamic QR codes for each invoice, allowing customers to pay digitally and have the transaction matched automatically inside Marg ERP. Distributors will be able to generate payment links for individual invoices, with receipts posted directly to the ERP system. The companies say this should speed up collections, improve same-day settlement and reduce working capital pressure for businesses that operate on tight margins and high transaction volumes.

The partnership also builds on Marg ERP’s longer push into embedded payments. The company has previously worked with payment and banking partners to link financial services with its accounting tools, reflecting a broader trend among Indian software providers to fold payments, reconciliation and business management into a single platform. PayU, meanwhile, has been expanding partnerships aimed at MSMEs, including a July 2024 tie-up with Vi Business to offer digital payment solutions for small firms.
