Next PM Kisan instalment awaits beneficiaries amid compliance concerns

Farmers enrolled in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme are preparing for the upcoming payment, but delays may persist due to pending eKYC and land record updates, highlighting the importance of timely compliance.

Farmers enrolled in the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme are once again watching for the next payment, after the 23rd instalment was sent on June 20, 2026. According to ABP Live, the government transferred ₹18,880 crore to about 9.44 crore beneficiaries, and the next tranche is expected sometime between August and November 2026, although no exact date has been announced.

The scheme provides eligible farmers with ₹6,000 a year in three equal instalments, paid directly into bank accounts. But officials and service guides warn that payments can be delayed if basic compliance steps are left unfinished, even when funds have been readied for release.

One of the most important checks is eKYC, which has been made mandatory for beneficiaries. Farmers can complete it through the PM Kisan website or at a Common Service Centre. The Economic Times has also reported that Aadhaar-bank linkage should be verified, as problems in direct benefit transfer can hold up payment.

Land records are another common cause of delay. Updated ownership details and correct revenue entries are needed for the instalment to clear smoothly. In some states, farmers must also obtain a Farmer ID, and where that rule applies, missing registration can leave the next payment pending.

Beneficiaries can check their status on the official PM Kisan portal using either an Aadhaar number or registered mobile number. Keeping the mobile number active matters because OTP-based verification is often used for login and eKYC completion. For farmers hoping to avoid disruption in the next round of payments, the advice from the scheme’s service guides is simple: complete the formalities early and make sure every record is current.
