Shares of Kwality Pharmaceuticals, Aarti Pharmalabs, and Universal Cables soared to their 20% upper circuit limits amid upbeat earnings updates, with Kwality Pharmaceuticals revising its FY27 revenue outlook and Universal Cables reaching a 52-week high amid robust growth in sales and order book.
Shares of Kwality Pharmaceuticals, Aarti Pharmalabs and Universal Cables all hit their 20% upper circuit limits on Monday on the Bombay Stock Exchange, with trading in each counter marked by unusually heavy volumes. The moves came as investors responded to company-specific updates on earnings, guidance and order visibility, with Kwality and Universal Cables also touching fresh highs during the session.
Kwality Pharmaceuticals rose to ₹3,130.85 after lifting its FY27 outlook, saying revenue is now expected to exceed ₹700 crore, up from an earlier target of ₹650 crore, while profit after tax is projected at more than ₹109 crore versus ₹100 crore previously. The stock has surged 183% so far in 2026 from ₹1,108.25, reflecting a run that has been supported by stronger execution and a more confident near-term demand outlook. In its annual report, the company said the pharmaceutical industry still has a positive long-term path, helped by innovation, demographics, higher healthcare spending and wider insurance coverage, even as pricing pressure and regulation remain risks.
Aarti Pharmalabs also advanced sharply as the market digested its medium-term growth ambitions, including a target of 15% to 18% revenue and EBITDA growth over the next 3 to 4 years. The company said a planned shutdown at its Unit 4 steroid active pharmaceutical ingredient block temporarily hit Q1FY27 production, but the work unlocked about a one-third capacity increase. It has also pointed to early signs of easing supply chain strain after a period of elevated raw material costs tied to geopolitical tensions.
Universal Cables was another standout, climbing to a 52-week high of ₹1,698.40 after a tenfold jump in average trading volume and nearly 2 million shares changing hands on the NSE and BSE by 2:20 pm. The company reported standalone profit after tax of ₹37.18 crore, up about 90.65% from a year earlier, while revenue rose 57.5% to ₹945.06 crore. It said the stronger performance was driven by higher sales volumes, a better product mix, continued strength in extra-high-voltage cables and growth in capacitors and allied power quality solutions. Universal Cables also said its order book stood at roughly ₹2,860 crore on July 1, including export orders of about ₹485 crore, with another ₹390 crore in the pipeline.
