Investors focus on major Indian companies reporting in early August, with healthcare and auto sectors highlighting growth amid shifts to electric mobility and specialised pharma expansions.
As India’s quarterly earnings season moves into its second half, investors are turning their attention to a fresh batch of large and mid-cap companies due to report results between August 10 and August 14. The slate spans pharmaceuticals, healthcare, autos, consumer goods and financial services, with the market likely to focus on margin trends, demand commentary and management guidance for the rest of the financial year.
Among the first names due to report is Gland Pharma, which has built a global business around complex injectables and operates mainly on a business-to-business model. According to the company, it supplies regulated markets including the US and Europe and continues to expand across oncology, ophthalmics and other specialised formulations as it integrates recent acquisitions. Bosch Ltd, the Indian arm of the German engineering group, is also scheduled to post results on August 10, with investors likely to watch its performance in conventional auto components as the sector shifts towards electric and hybrid powertrains.
Also on August 10, Amara Raja Energy & Mobility will be in focus as it works to broaden its battery franchise beyond lead-acid products. The company has been investing in lithium-ion cell manufacturing and new energy ventures, signalling a longer-term push into next-generation storage technologies. Market participants will be looking for clues on how those investments are shaping near-term earnings and capital spending.
The August 11 batch includes Zydus Lifesciences, Bata India and IFCI. Zydus continues to combine a domestic formulations business with a sizeable US generics presence while also investing in speciality drugs and biosimilars. Bata, one of the country’s biggest footwear retailers, remains centred on store expansion and product refreshes across its retail, franchise and wholesale networks. IFCI, meanwhile, is still being watched for progress in cleaning up its legacy stressed assets and strengthening its core lending book.
Apollo Hospitals Enterprise is due to report on August 12, and its numbers will be closely examined for growth in hospital occupancy, pharmacy sales, diagnostics and digital health. The company has been expanding bed capacity while scaling its Apollo 24|7 platform, and its update should offer a broader read-through on healthcare demand in urban India.
Two more companies are due on August 13: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Page Industries. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles was recently separated into a distinct listed entity and remains a major force in India’s passenger car and electric vehicle market. Page Industries, the Jockey licence holder in India and several neighbouring markets, will be watched for consumer demand across innerwear, athleisure and casualwear. Alkem Laboratories rounds out the list on August 14, with investors likely to focus on its domestic branded generics business, its US operations and efforts to widen its therapeutic mix beyond anti-infectives.
