Indian stocks break technical resistance levels amid strong fundamentals

Hindustan Aeronautics, One 97 Communications, and Vardhman Textiles are demonstrating notable technical breakouts backed by robust financial performances, signalling potential short-term momentum shifts in India’s equity markets.

As the week beginning August 10 approaches, three Indian stocks are drawing attention from traders looking for short-term momentum: Hindustan Aeronautics, One 97 Communications and Vardhman Textiles. All three have pushed through or retested important technical levels with firmer volumes, a pattern often watched for signs that buyers are regaining control.

Hindustan Aeronautics has been one of the stronger names in the defence space. According to market commentary, the stock has moved above the ₹4,700 level on the weekly chart, breaking a downtrend that had been in place since June 2024. That technical strength has come alongside a supportive business backdrop. Moneycontrol reported that the company’s fourth-quarter net profit rose 5.5% from a year earlier to ₹4,196 crore, helped by a sharp jump in other income, while revenue from operations increased 1.7% to ₹13,942 crore. Prabhudas Lilladher has also maintained a bullish view, assigning a target price of ₹5,338 and pointing to a healthy order book that extends visibility well into the next decade.

One 97 Communications, the operator of Paytm, has also broken into focus after crossing a long-standing resistance zone around ₹1,350. The stock had tested that area several times since late 2021 without sustaining a move above it, but recent trading has shown a stronger breakout backed by heavier volumes. That comes as the company’s operating picture continues to improve. Moneycontrol reported consolidated net sales of ₹2,264 crore for the March quarter of 2026, up 18.44% from a year earlier, while net profit rose 134.09% to ₹184 crore. Motilal Oswal, while keeping a neutral stance, set a target price of ₹1,300 and highlighted growth in payments and financial services distribution.

Vardhman Textiles has taken a different route, with the stock revisiting a previously broken resistance zone near ₹580 after first clearing it in April 2026. Traders often view that kind of retest as a confirmation pattern if volumes remain supportive, and that is how the chart now appears to many market watchers. The company has a broad industrial footprint, with operations across yarn, fabric, acrylic fibre and garments, and it has been stepping up investment through a ₹3,660 crore capital expenditure plan aimed at expanding capacity in several categories through FY27.

The broader appeal of these names lies in the combination of technical strength and fundamental context. HAL benefits from defence order visibility and a recent earnings beat. Paytm is still working through a turnaround, but its latest results point to better profitability and stronger operating leverage. Vardhman, meanwhile, offers a steadier manufacturing story with capacity expansion that could support growth over time. Even so, the breakouts remain technical signals rather than guarantees, and traders will be watching closely to see whether the new support levels hold in the days ahead.
