Indian Hotels redefines growth with new select service business unit aimed at 35-50% expansion

Indian Hotels Company Limited has reorganised its fast-growing businesses into a separate Select Service Business unit, targeting annual growth of up to 50% and supporting its long-term Accelerate 2030 strategy, with offerings spanning Ginger, Tree of Life, amã Stays & Trails and Qmin.

Indian Hotels Company Limited has reorganised its newer and faster-growing businesses into a separate Select Service Business unit as it looks to sharpen growth across Ginger, Tree of Life, amã Stays & Trails and Qmin.

According to the company, the new structure brings together about 260 Ginger hotels, more than 40 Tree of Life resorts, over 360 amã Stays & Trails bungalows and more than 100 Qmin outlets. Managing Director and Chief Executive Puneet Chhatwal said the portfolio would act as a major growth engine for the group, with the businesses designed to deliver scale, innovation and profitable expansion across different parts of the hospitality market.

The move builds on IHCL’s push into capital-light formats over the past several years. The company launched amã Stays & Trails in 2019 as an entry into the homestay segment, starting with heritage bungalows and homes in locations such as Coorg, Chikmagalur and Goa. By 2024, IHCL said the brand had grown to 250 bungalows with another 131 under development, while a separate report in The Economic Times said the group has been targeting annual growth of 35% to 50% from its new businesses.

IHCL has also framed the new division as part of its long-term Accelerate 2030 plan. Chhatwal said the portfolio’s distinct positioning should help it capture emerging demand and support an enterprise revenue compound annual growth rate of more than 25%. Deepika Rao has been redesignated as Executive Vice President, Select Service Business, and will oversee performance across the four brands through five legal entities.
