Gold and silver prices in India showed little change on August 9, with retail rates differing slightly across cities, reflecting regional variations and ongoing global economic influences.
Gold and silver prices in India were broadly steady on August 9, with bullion dealers and jewellers reflecting only small differences across cities and retail chains, according to Business Today. The report said 24-carat gold was priced at ₹1,45,165 per 10 grams nationally, while silver stood at ₹2,23,800 per kilogram.
Retail pricing continued to vary by location. In Delhi, 24-carat gold was listed at ₹1,52,550 per 10 grams and 22-carat gold at ₹1,39,850, while Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Chennai all showed slightly lower 24-carat and 22-carat levels. Silver rates also differed by city, with Delhi at ₹26,200 per 100 grams and ₹2,62,000 per kilogram, while Hyderabad was among the priciest at ₹26,590 per 100 grams and ₹2,65,900 per kilogram.
At major jewellery chains, prices were close to one another. Business Today said Joyalukkas and Malabar Gold & Diamonds were quoting ₹13,220 per gram for 22-carat gold, while Tanishq’s 22-carat rate was ₹13,265 per gram. Malabar’s 24-carat rate was ₹14,422 per gram and Tanishq’s was ₹14,460 per gram, with the small spreads reflecting brand pricing, procurement costs and regional market conditions.
Analysts and traders are still watching global economic data, US interest rate expectations and currency moves for the next direction in precious metals. That backdrop has kept Indian bullion markets sensitive to shifts in overseas sentiment, even when domestic retail rates appear calm from one day to the next.
