PM-Kisan’s 24th instalment remains unannounced as farmers check paperwork

Farmers are still waiting for the next Rs2,000 PM-Kisan payment, with the government yet to confirm a release date and officials urging beneficiaries to check their records.

Farmers across India are still waiting for the 24th instalment under the PM Kisan scheme, even though the payment window for October has effectively arrived. According to reports from Aaj Tak, Mint, ET Now and Moneycontrol Hindi, the government has not yet announced a release date, but the next transfer is widely expected this month because the scheme typically sends support every four months.

Under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi programme, eligible farmers receive Rs2,000 at a time, amounting to Rs6,000 a year paid directly into bank accounts. ET Now reported that the previous instalment was released on June 20, 2026, reaching about 9.44 crore beneficiaries, which is why many farmers have been watching for the next tranche as the rabi sowing season gets under way.

The delay has sharpened attention on paperwork and account details. Mint, Moneycontrol Hindi and Aaj Tak said farmers should make sure their e-KYC is complete, Aadhaar is correctly linked to their bank account and land records are up to date. Any mismatch in banking details, ownership documents or land information can hold up a payment, even for otherwise eligible recipients.

Farmers can check their status on the official PM-Kisan portal by using the “Know Your Status” option and entering their registration details. If the portal shows a problem, Aaj Tak advised contacting the local agriculture department. Some media reports have suggested the payment could come after Dussehra, but so far that remains speculation rather than an official announcement.
