Terra Investimentos replaces Sabesp with WEG in its short-term stock basket amid strategy shift

Terra Investimentos has swapped Sabesp for WEG in its recommended weekly stock portfolio, citing strategic reasons amid market fluctuations, while maintaining a strong long-term performance edge over the Ibovespa.

Terra Investimentos has swapped Sabesp for WEG in its weekly recommended stock basket for August 14 to 21, according to Money Times. Régis Chinchila, who writes the selection, said Sabesp still has solid fundamentals and remains a medium-term buy idea, but the shares hit the protection stop, prompting what he described as a strategic change.

The updated five-stock portfolio also includes MBRF, Suzano, Hypera and Iguatemi, each with a 20% weighting. Terra’s previous weekly line-up fell 1.92% in the latest review period, but still held up better than the Ibovespa, which dropped 4.81% by the close on Thursday, August 13, according to the report. Sabesp was the weakest name in the basket, sliding 8.87%, while Hypera was the only holding to finish higher, rising 2.39%.

The move marks the first change to a portfolio that had remained unchanged across several earlier weekly updates in July and May, when Sabesp stayed in the group alongside MBRF, Suzano, Hypera and Iguatemi. Over the past 12 months, Terra’s recommendation has gained 43.55%, ahead of the Ibovespa’s 21.26% rise, according to Money Times.
