While Muthoot Finance’s shares cling to support levels, analysts emphasize the need for a decisive breach above ₹3,200 to trigger a bullish reversal, amidst a broader cautious outlook on financial stocks.
Muthoot Finance’s share price trend has weakened this year, but the stock is still clinging to a key technical support around ₹2,750, according to the analysis published by The Hindu BusinessLine. The report says the shares need a decisive move above ₹3,200 before the chart picture turns constructive again, with a much higher medium-term objective in the ₹4,900-₹5,000 zone if that happens. Until then, the recommendation is to stay on the sidelines, as a break below support could expose the stock to further downside towards ₹2,300. According to ICICI Securities, however, Muthoot remains fundamentally supported by strong execution and a healthy demand backdrop, with the brokerage setting a target of ₹4,000 and pointing to robust AUM growth and improved yields.
Bajaj Housing Finance presents a more mixed picture. The Hindu BusinessLine technical view says the stock has been under pressure since September 2024 and remains trapped in a narrow range, with resistance near ₹98 and downside risk if ₹80 fails. That caution comes even as the company has continued to deliver solid operating numbers. Financial Express reported that Bajaj Housing Finance posted a 14% rise in quarterly profit to ₹669 crore for the March period, while operating profit climbed 20% and assets under management rose 23% to ₹1.40 trillion. Moneycontrol also reported that ICICI Securities has assigned a buy rating with a target of ₹125, citing steady profitability, a diversified lending book and a goal of lifting home-loan market share over time.
Utkarsh Small Finance Bank remains firmly in a downtrend, with The Hindu BusinessLine noting that the shares have dropped sharply from their earlier highs and that the recent recovery from March lows looks like little more than a rebound within a larger decline. The stock needs to move above ₹19 to suggest a genuine reversal, the analysis said, while a fall below ₹13 would reopen the way to lower levels. For now, the technical picture remains weak and the stock does not yet look ready for fresh buying interest.
Vikram Solar also remains under pressure after its sharp retreat from a September 2025 peak, with The Hindu BusinessLine saying the shares will stay weak unless they can first reclaim ₹180 and then break above ₹220 to confirm a broader reversal. Below ₹150, the downside could extend further, the report warned. The article’s overall message is consistent across the four stocks: technical recovery will require clear price confirmation, even where company earnings or brokerage views appear more encouraging. In Muthoot’s case, recent results have strengthened the fundamental debate, with Mint reporting a 54% rise in consolidated assets under management in FY26 and a 61% jump in interest income, helped by surging gold prices.
