Reliance Industries’ digital arm Jio Platforms is nearing a potential $4 billion stock market debut, with plans to launch in October that could make it one of India’s largest listings, attracting significant foreign investor enthusiasm while market conditions remain uncertain.
Jio Platforms is moving closer to what could become one of India’s biggest stock market listings, with reports pointing to a launch window in the second half of October. According to CNBC-TV18, cited by News18 Hindi, the Reliance Industries digital holding company is preparing to open the book for anchor investors on 19 October, before widening the offer to all investors from 21 October to 23 October, with a possible stock market debut on 28 October if conditions remain favourable.
The timing would place the issue squarely in the festive season, when Indian markets often see stronger retail participation. Livemint reported that the company is aiming for a launch around Navratri, while also noting that the offer could slip into early November depending on market conditions. The same report said the issue could raise about $4 billion, which would make it a landmark transaction for India if completed on those terms.
The filing process appears to be well advanced. Business Standard reported that Mukesh Ambani told shareholders at Reliance Industries’ annual general meeting that Jio would file for its long-awaited public offering by the first half of 2026. Jio then submitted its draft red herring prospectus to the Securities and Exchange Board of India in June 2026 and received the regulator’s observation letter on 28 August, according to Daily Pioneer and other reports.
The offer is expected to be structured as a fresh issue rather than a sale by existing shareholders, meaning no part of the transaction would be an offer for sale. That distinction matters because the money raised would go directly to the company. Reports from Moneycontrol, Newsbytes and other outlets say the proceeds are likely to be used mainly to repay about ₹27,500 crore of borrowings at Reliance Jio Infocomm, with any balance earmarked for general corporate purposes.
Investors appear to be watching closely. Moneycontrol reported that foreign investors have given unusually positive feedback, suggesting demand could be strong if the company proceeds at the current valuation. Even so, the final size, price band and timetable have not been formally announced, and sources quoted in the reports said the launch will still depend on broader market and global conditions.
