Indian stocks eye double-digit gains amid corporate growth upgrades despite market volatility

Several Indian companies across consumer, industrial, pharmaceutical and financial sectors are highlighted for potential upside of up to 45%, amid ongoing market choppiness driven by global economic factors.

Indian shares have been choppy as investors weigh elevated crude prices, global bond yields and foreign fund flows, yet several brokerages are still pointing to individual companies where business-specific growth could support returns. In fresh research notes, analysts have highlighted a mix of consumer, industrial, pharmaceutical and financial stocks, with upside estimates ranging from about 12% to 45%.

Among the consumer names, Motilal Oswal has started coverage on LG Electronics India with a “Buy” rating and a target of Rs 2,080 a share, implying roughly 22% upside from recent levels. The brokerage expects demand to remain firm across televisions, washing machines and air conditioners, helped by premium products and a wider share of higher-value models. It also pointed to the company’s recent 5% to 6% air-conditioner price increase from October 1 to offset higher input costs, while arguing that a richer product mix and more local sourcing should lift margins over time.

The same report suggests LG’s growth story could stretch well beyond the near term. Motilal Oswal has introduced estimates for fiscal 2029 and sees revenue, operating profit and net profit rising at compound annual rates of 14%, 24% and 25%, respectively, over fiscal 2026 to fiscal 2029. The stock is being valued at 45 times forward earnings, according to the brokerage, which has linked its outlook to resilient consumer demand and ongoing premiumisation in home appliances and entertainment products.

In the engineering space, ICICI Securities has turned constructive on Azad Engineering after the commissioning of two dedicated manufacturing facilities for GE Vernova’s gas-power business in Hyderabad. The new units take Azad’s GE-dedicated footprint to three facilities, and six of the seven planned dedicated sites are now operational. ICICI Securities said follow-up orders from GE could provide five to six years of visibility for the newly commissioned capacity, and it set a target price of Rs 3,200 a share, implying about 12% upside.

Pharmaceutical major Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories is another stock that has drawn attention. Nomura has given the company a “Buy” rating and a target price of Rs 1,740, which points to upside of about 45% and places it among the brokerage’s highest-conviction upside ideas in the sector. Nomura’s case rests on new-product launches and a stronger global portfolio, including the possible US launch of biosimilar Abatacept, alongside other opportunities that could broaden the company’s growth profile.

In commercial vehicles, Geojit Financial Services has initiated a positive view on Ashok Leyland with a target of Rs 179 a share, roughly 18.6% above the recent close. The brokerage pointed to a solid operating update, with quarterly revenue rising 10% year on year to Rs 9,634 crore and profit after tax increasing 3% to Rs 609 crore. Domestic medium and heavy commercial vehicle truck volumes rose 15% and light commercial vehicle volumes increased 21%, while Geojit expects replacement demand, premiumisation and margin recovery to support earnings growth over the next few years.

The list also includes online travel services provider TBO Tek and asset manager Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC. Nuvama has initiated coverage on TBO Tek with a target of Rs 2,200, suggesting about 32% upside, and expects international expansion, operating leverage and a larger contribution from hotel inventory to drive revenue and earnings growth. Separately, Prabhudas Lilladher has started coverage on Aditya Birla Sun Life AMC with a target of Rs 1,200, about 21% above the recent share price, saying equity assets under management could grow at around 18% between fiscal 2027 and fiscal 2029, supporting core earnings growth and higher non-mutual-fund revenue.
