Imperial Petroleum’s shares continue to draw interest from investors as the company reports robust earnings and fleet growth, trading below its net asset value with low volatility indications.
Imperial Petroleum’s shares have continued to attract attention from bargain hunters after a strong run in the underlying business and a valuation that still looks modest by several common measures. Seeking Alpha noted that the stock was still trading well below the company’s estimated net asset value, even after a recovery in the share price from mid-June levels.
The latest market data from TipRanks put Imperial Petroleum at $4.85 a share as of 27 July 2026, giving the company a market value of about $243.16 million. The same data showed a low price-to-earnings ratio of 3.2 and a beta of -0.08, suggesting the stock has moved with relatively little volatility compared with the broader market. TipRanks also says the company is due to report earnings again on 27 October 2026.
Imperial Petroleum’s operating results have helped underpin the case for the stock. In its full-year 2024 release, the company said it earned $50 million and ended the period with $207 million in cash. Chief executive Harry Vafias also pointed to continued fleet expansion, including an agreement to buy seven Japanese-built drybulk carriers for delivery between February and May 2025.
That growth carried into 2025. In its second-quarter update, Imperial Petroleum said fleet utilisation rose to 83.1% from 80.9% a year earlier, while the fleet expanded from 12 vessels to 19 after the delivery of the supramax carrier Supra Pasha on 26 April 2025. By the fourth quarter of 2025, the company said operational utilisation had climbed further to 91.8%, with tankers at 93.4% and drybulk vessels at 90.4%. Imperial Petroleum also said it had agreed to buy three more drybulk carriers and one tanker, with deliveries expected by the third quarter of 2026.
