Apollo Micro Systems secures ₹80.84 crore in new defence orders amid record Q1 profits

Hyderabad-based aerospace firm Apollo Micro Systems secures significant new orders, fuelling its robust first-quarter performance as India ramps up defence procurement and self-reliance initiatives.

Apollo Micro Systems said in an exchange filing that it has won fresh orders worth ₹80.84 crore from defence public sector undertakings, state governments and private industry, adding to its regular business pipeline and supporting its order book. The Hyderabad-based aerospace and defence group said the contracts are part of its existing operations rather than a one-off win.

The update comes after a strong first quarter for financial year 2027. Business Today reported that Apollo Micro Systems posted net profit of ₹25.2 crore in Q1 FY27, up 43% from a year earlier, while revenue from operations rose 88% to ₹251.3 crore. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation increased 18% to ₹48 crore, the company’s highest quarterly EBITDA to date, although margins narrowed to 21.4% from 30.6% a year earlier.

Managing director Baddam Karunakar Reddy said the performance reflected stronger execution and a focus on key priorities, while noting that the company must continue sharpening its capabilities to keep pace with changing defence requirements. The latest order win also fits a broader run of business momentum. The Economic Times reported in April that Apollo Micro Systems had secured fresh orders worth ₹75.2 crore, including contracts linked to DRDO, a PSU and private sector customers.

Apollo Micro Systems has been positioning itself to benefit from India’s expanding defence spending and domestic procurement push. In an investor presentation, the company pointed to higher budgetary allocations for defence in fiscal 2026 and a larger share earmarked for domestic sourcing and private industry participation. Its annual report also highlighted the growth of India’s defence exports and the wider opportunity created by the government’s drive for self-reliance in military production.
