Pine Labs puts ₹24.99 crore into subsidiary as profit momentum strengthens

Pine Labs has invested ₹24.99 crore in wholly owned subsidiary Synergistic Financial Networks to fund working capital, operations and expansion, following a sharp rise in first-quarter profit.

Pine Labs has put ₹24.99 crore into its wholly owned subsidiary, Synergistic Financial Networks Private Limited, as the payments and merchant technology group continues to back its operating infrastructure. The investment was made through a rights issue subscribed on October 21, 2026, and was settled in cash, according to the company and market reports.

The capital injection bought 49,869 equity shares in SFNPL, but Pine Labs’ ownership in the subsidiary did not change. EquityBulls reported that SFNPL’s post-infusion paid-up capital now stands at ₹3.23 crore. The subsidiary, which was incorporated in 2008, works in financial technology, with a focus on payment processing and integrated technology services for merchants and enterprises.

Pine Labs said the fresh funds are meant to support SFNPL’s working capital needs, day-to-day operations and broader expansion plans. The company also wants the unit to keep investing in its step-down subsidiaries, underlining the role SFNPL plays in Pine Labs’ wider payments and technology structure. The transaction did not require government or regulatory approvals, according to the company.

The move comes as Pine Labs reports a stronger financial backdrop. Business Standard said the company’s consolidated revenue from operations rose 19.6% year on year to ₹736.92 crore in the first quarter of FY27, while net profit jumped more than fourfold to ₹19.57 crore from ₹4.79 crore a year earlier. The company also posted a profit before tax of ₹37.73 crore, compared with a loss before tax in the same quarter last year.

Pine Labs has been expanding its merchant commerce franchise through payment acceptance, payment processing and prepaid and gift card services, while also leaning more heavily on technology-led offerings for merchants. The latest capital infusion suggests it is still prioritising the strength of its core infrastructure as it looks to widen transaction volumes and deepen its presence in digital payments.
