Kredily launches Kredily 3.0 with KAI, an agentic AI tool capable of executing payroll and HR tasks from plain-language prompts, marking a significant advancement in automation for Indian businesses.
Kredily has launched Kredily 3.0, an expanded version of its HR and payroll platform that puts a new agentic AI tool, KAI, at the centre of the system. The Bengaluru-based company says the software is designed to do more than answer routine questions: it can carry out approved payroll and HR tasks from plain-language prompts, validate the results and flag exceptions for human review. Kredily is also moving into managed payroll services, giving companies the option to let the firm run payroll operations on their behalf.
The company says KAI has more than 110 functions across payroll, attendance, leave, employee records and other HR processes. In practical terms, a manager could ask it to check attendance for the day, identify absences, handle a leave request, generate a payroll report or prepare monthly payroll. Kredily claims this makes KAI India’s first agentic AI payroll assistant embedded directly inside an HRMS, rather than a conventional chatbot that only searches for information or summarises data.
Devendra Khandegar, founder and chief executive of Kredily, said the aim is to shift HR software from a tool people operate manually into one that can execute work within set permissions and controls. The company says the system has been built on more than a decade of payroll experience across more than 25,000 businesses and more than one million employees, with controls such as permission checks, approval workflows and audit trails intended to keep sensitive payroll activity under human oversight.
Kredily says the new platform also links payroll with compliance and adjacent HR functions, including provident fund, employees’ state insurance, tax deduction at source and professional tax. It is adding applicant tracking, background verification and performance management, alongside a workforce intelligence layer that analyses headcount, attrition, absenteeism, overtime and payroll costs. In parallel, the company is widening access to its Bharat Payroll OS programme, which it says is aimed at startups and small businesses navigating India’s labour and compliance rules. Kredily’s website says the Bharat Payroll OS plan automates salary calculations, statutory deductions and payroll workflows, while pricing for its core plans starts at ₹0 for a free tier and rises to paid packages for larger teams.
